What is Stretch Ceiling Lighting?

Stretch Ceiling Lighting or wall system that uses a flexible, translucent membrane. Lighting such as LED strips or modules is installed behind the membrane, allowing soft, even illumination to shine through without visible seams or hotspots.

The result is a smooth, continuous light surface that looks like it emits light on its own. Stretch Ceiling lighting can be dimmable, color-tunable, and shaped into curves or 3D forms, making it ideal for modern and visually striking interior designs.

Components of Stretch Ceiling

  • Stretch Ceiling Translucent Sheet

The main material, made from a special polymer (such as PVC) that is flexible, durable, lightweight, and resistant to sagging even in large panel sizes.

  • Aluminium Profile Track

The structural frame used to tension and secure the Barrisol sheet. These profiles are typically concealed along ceiling or wall edges.

  • LED Lighting System

The primary light source installed behind the Barrisol sheet. It is recommended to maintain a distance of at least 15–20 cm between the LEDs and the membrane to ensure optimal light diffusion and uniformity. High-quality LEDs should be used for the best visual performance.

Things to Know Before Installation

  1. A ceiling void of approximately 15–20 cm is required
This allows proper light diffusion and provides enough space to conceal the LED system.
  2. Easy maintenance
If the lighting needs repair, there is no need to remove the entire ceiling—simply release a corner of the membrane to access and replace the LEDs.
  3. Easy to clean
Gently wipe the surface with a microfiber cloth.
  4. Not suitable for extremely hot or outdoor environments
Because the material is made from PVC film.

A minimum distance of 15 cm. between the fabric panel and the light source must be planned to ensure the desired light uniformity.

Stretch Ceiling - FAQ

Stretch Ceiling membranes and their lighting systems typically offer a long lifespan, especially when paired with high-quality LEDs. With proper installation and use, the system can last for many years with minimal degradation.
Stretch Ceiling typically uses LED lighting systems, such as LED strips, modules, or PCB lights, installed behind the translucent membrane. For optimal light diffusion, the LEDs should be placed at least 15–20 cm away from the Barrisol sheet.
Yes. Stretch Ceiling can be easily cleaned by gently wiping the membrane with a soft microfiber cloth. No harsh chemicals or abrasive tools are required.
